Algal Analysis — Algal Identification

When only a single species needs to be identified or a qualitative analysis of the algal community in the sample is required, an algal identification will be performed. If available, live material will be used for the analysis. Wet slide mounts will be prepared and algal identifications performed on a Nikon Eclipse TE200 inverted microscope equipped with phase contrast optics and epifluorescence. Identifications will generally be made to the lowest practicable level.

GWL/CL offers field sampling services, or samples can be sent directly to our lab.
